ADVISOR'S NOTE—Parts 2-7, and the two slideshows were were all shot and edited on May 19, 2009 by
six students at FHS. Part 1 was completed one week prior, and the music video was an unexpected
surprise project on May 21, after the entire program was done. At the assembly on the second day,
parts 1-6 were shown, but the other sections were omitted due to time restrictions of the program.
The six student journalists and their contributions are listed below:
Senior Kristi Benjamin - The producer of the now famous "Dance Beat" music video (the most-viewed
page on the Foothill High School web site), Kristi told the story of the paralyzed student passenger.
Senior Chris Gulick - The web editor of fhspress.com and fhswebsite.info., Chris was assigned to cover
the drunk driver and her experience being arrested at the scene and at the jail.
Senior Ashley Smith - Producer of popular music videos at FHS rallies and other projects, Ashley
covered the passenger killed at the crash and his trip to the morgue.
Junior Alex Archuleta - Project manager of numerous fhspress.com video projects, including music
concerts and the Beatles "Something" video, Alex edited the Grim Reaper segment and produced a
music video from extra "Every 15 Minutes" footage.
Sophomore Karl Engelking - fhspress.com and EQUI (yearbook) photo editor, Karl shot all of the pictures
of the event and helped edit the first two video segments (the driving scene and the crash site). He also
helped author the program's DVD (made available for purchase).
Sophomore Mikhaila Freas - Producer of the winning Beatles video ("Girl"), Mikhaila was selected to
chronicle the plight of Marisa, who died as the result of another driver's choice to drive drunk.
